Somewhere between watching and playing, something is coming

There is a moment in every game.

You know the one.

The score is tied. There are only a few minutes left. Everyone around you suddenly becomes an expert.

"He's going to score."

"No way. They'll concede first."

"Just watch. I know what's going to happen."

And then it happens.

Sometimes you're right.

And when you are, there is this tiny, almost ridiculous feeling of satisfaction.

You smile.

You turn to the person sitting next to you.

And without saying much your eyes say it all.

I told you.

We've all been there.

Maybe in a stadium.

Maybe on a couch with friends.

Maybe in a college canteen with a phone in one hand and a game playing somewhere in the background.

Sports have always had a strange way of doing that to us.

They make strangers argue like old friends.

They make friends compete like rivals.

They make an ordinary evening feel unforgettable.

But somewhere along the way something has changed.

We don't just watch anymore.

We discuss.

We analyse.

We predict.

We take sides.

We say, "This team is going to win."

We say, "He's definitely scoring."

We say, "I knew it!"

And then we move on to the next game.

But what if that little moment of prediction could become something more?

What if your instinct could be tested?

What if that conversation with your friends could become a competition?

What if watching the game was only the beginning?

That question has been sitting with us at SoftNEP for quite some time.

And as it often happens with ideas worth pursuing, it started rather simply.

A conversation.

A few questions.

A lot of "What if?"

And eventually, a thought that refused to go away.

We wondered if there was a way to bring the excitement that happens around the game into the game itself.

Not by changing sport.

Not by changing the way people watch it.

But by changing the way they participate in the excitement.

So we started building.

Quietly.

One idea became another.

Sketches became screens.

Screens became experiences.

And somewhere between late-night conversations, countless iterations and a lot of coffee, that little idea began to look like something real.

Something we could put in people's hands.

Something that could make a person look at a match a little differently.

Something that could make a group of friends argue over who actually knows sports better.

Something that could turn:

"I think they'll win."

into:

"Let's see if you're right."

We aren't ready to tell you everything yet.

Not quite.

There are still a few things we're putting together.

A few surprises we're keeping close.

And perhaps that's how it should be.

Because some things are more exciting when you don't know exactly what's coming.

What we can tell you is this:

SoftNEP is building something new.

Something born from our love for technology.

Something inspired by the energy of sport.

Something designed around competition, instinct, excitement and that wonderfully human desire to say:

"I knew it."

We've already started taking it beyond our screens.

We've been talking to students.

We've been working with colleges.

We've recently brought young minds together through hackathon events and watched them take an idea that was still finding its feet and run with it.

And that has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.

Because perhaps the best products aren't built for people.

They're built with them.

So, if you're someone who loves sports...

If you have ever argued passionately about who is going to win...

If you've ever made a prediction five minutes before everyone else...

If you've ever celebrated being right far more than you probably should have...

You might want to keep an eye on what we're doing.

Because something is coming.

We don't want to reveal everything today.

Not yet.

For now, we'll leave you with just three words:

Play. Predict. Win.

Soon, you'll know why.

SoftNEP

Something new is coming.
